Dhruv Jurel bolstered his selection prospects for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand by scoring a century during the second four-day match in Christchurch. After struggling in the opening fixture, Jurel anchored the India A innings on Sunday at Hagley Oval, sharing a 62-run stand with Manav Suthar and a 50-run partnership with Akash Deep to help the side approach 300 runs.
His performance arrives as team management evaluates wicketkeeping options, with Rishabh Pant currently working toward fitness following an injury sustained at the Irani Trophy. Pant remains in the Test squad and is expected to participate in the third match against New Zealand A starting November 7.
