Jurel, Padikkal shine for India A on Day 1 of second unofficial Test

India A reached 291/7 by the close of play on the opening day of their second unofficial Test against New Zealand A. After being sent in to bat, the visitors recovered from an early collapse thanks to a 91-run partnership between Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal.

Dhruv Jurel anchored the later stages of the innings, finishing the day unbeaten on 99 alongside Akash Deep. Fraser Sheat led the hosts' bowling attack by claiming four wickets, including the dismissals of Padikkal, Ravichandran Smaran, and Washington Sundar during a middle-order slump.
