Devdutt Padikkal credits Virat Kohli after scoring 199 runs against New Zealand A

Devdutt Padikkal recently showcased his red-ball potential by scoring 199 runs for India A against New Zealand A. This performance in Lincoln follows a challenging period for the batter and strengthens his case for a regular spot in the national Test lineup.

Padikkal attributes his recent success to the influence of his former Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate, Virat Kohli. He noted that observing Kohli's approach to multi-day cricket provided him with a blueprint for success in difficult overseas conditions.

Having already recorded two Test centuries against Sri Lanka earlier this year, Padikkal is now looking to cement his place in the longer format.
