West Indies head coach Daren Sammy hailed his side’s performance after the five‑match T20I series against India ended level at 2‑2, noting that the final game in Bengaluru was called off because of rain. He said the West Indies had shown they could compete with the defending champions on their home turf, despite the odds being against them at the start of the series.
Sammy also pointed to India’s recent dominance, recalling the third T20I against New Zealand where India chased 199 in just 13.2 overs. Opening partners Abhishek Sharma and teenage Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put together 133 runs in 7.1 overs, with Sharma blasting 113 from 38 balls and Sooryavanshi adding 45 from 19, underscoring the batting firepower that makes India a dangerous opponent.
