Detroit Lions RB Isiah Pacheco has surgery, will miss ‘significant’ time

Detroit Lions tailback Isiah Pacheco is slated to miss considerable action after undergoing an operative procedure. The former Kansas City Chiefs standout was already sidelined for Detroit's regular-season opener because of an issue with his back, delaying his initial appearance with the franchise.

In Pacheco's absence, Jahmyr Gibbs stepped into a primary role during Detroit's 31-30 overtime triumph over the New Orleans Saints. Gibbs set personal bests by amassing 156 yards on the ground and two scores across 29 rushes, logging 24 of those handoffs in regulation.

Despite the heavy usage and the departure of David Montgomery, head coach Dan Campbell remains unfazed by the increased demands placed on his lead rusher.
