Despite Week 1 loss, one group on the Browns offense improved

The Cleveland Browns began their 2026 campaign on a sour note, suffering a heavy defeat on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium on September 13. While the team experienced breakdowns across multiple units, running back Quinshon Judkins managed to log carries during the opening frame as one offensive position group showed signs of progress amidst the setback.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson, who recently marked his 31st birthday, endured a difficult and erratic outing that drew widespread criticism. Even so, head coach Todd Monken stood by his signal-caller in his own coaching debut with the franchise, arguing that pinning the outcome exclusively on the passer was unwarranted and pointing out positive elements he noticed during the contest.
