Oregon starting signal-caller Dante Moore avoided a season-ending outcome after being removed on a stretcher and transported to a hospital during his team's 41-27 road victory over Southern California. The signal-caller suffered a concussion as a result of a late blow delivered by Trojans defender Desman Stephens II during the second period, though medical evaluations indicate no additional physical damage.
Prior to exiting the contest, Moore had successfully completed eight out of ten passing attempts for 77 yards, adding to his season totals of 926 yards and nine touchdowns through four appearances. Head coach Dan Lanning strongly condemned the collision during his postgame remarks, while backup Dylan Raiola stepped in to finish out the remainder of the matchup.
