Zak Crawley has secured a one-year extension with Kent Cricket Club, ensuring his continued presence at the county level for the upcoming season. The 28-year-old batsman agreed to the new deal shortly after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) opted not to renew his central contract, removing him from England’s squad.
Crawley, who has not played a Test match since the final game of last winter’s Ashes series in Sydney and last represented England in a one-day international against Sri Lanka in January, contributed significantly to Kent’s promotion back to Division One of the County Championship this year. He scored 608 runs across 12 matches, including four half-centuries, with a highest individual score of 89.
Reflecting on the future, Crawley expressed enthusiasm for the challenge ahead, highlighting the club’s development of young talent—a journey he himself experienced since his debut for Kent in 2017. The opener has now made over 180 appearances for the county across all competitions.
