Getafe make offer to sign free agent Sancho

La Liga side Getafe have submitted a formal bid to sign free agent winger Jadon Sancho, who left Manchester United after his contract expired this summer. The 26-year-old, who joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in 2021, has been evaluating multiple options since becoming a free agent, though reports suggest he prefers a move outside England.

His interest in Getafe comes amid a busy transfer window for the club, which recently welcomed ex-Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal on a free transfer, securing the 34-year-old Spain international until June 2027. Sancho’s own career has included loan spells with Dortmund, Chelsea, and Aston Villa, where he made 39 appearances last season as Villa qualified for the Champions League and won the Europa League, featuring in the final against Freiburg as a late substitute.

His time at Chelsea during the 2024-25 campaign included an obligation to buy, though the club ultimately paid a £5 million penalty to return him to United after 41 appearances. Sancho has been actively training and posting updates on his social media, though a visit to non-league side Flixton was later clarified as a casual appearance rather than a trial.
