Confirmed: Barcelona starlet Hamza Abdelkarim nominated for CAF Young Player of the Year award

Barcelona teenager Hamza Abdelkarim has secured a spot among the finalists for the 2026 CAF Young Player of the Year honor. The Egyptian forward joined the Catalan club initially on loan from Al-Ahly earlier this year before earning a permanent transfer following impressive performances with the youth squad and a subsequent appearance at the World Cup.

Since securing his permanent deal, the eighteen-year-old attacker has transitioned into the senior squad under manager Hansi Flick. He is joined on the ten-player shortlist by several other standout prospects across European football, including Manchester City midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi and Real Madrid player Yan Diomande.
