Commanders roster moves: Practice-squad corner signed, young defensive lineman released

Following a tight 24-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in their season opener, where an unsuccessful fourth-quarter two-point conversion sealed the loss, the Washington Commanders have executed several squad changes ahead of their Week 2 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. The front office reinforced the offensive trenches by agreeing to terms with veteran center and guard Lucas Patrick, who brings 65 career starts to the interior line.

Injuries also prompted adjustments on defense, as linebacker Jordan Magee landed on injured reserve after sustaining a hamstring issue in Week 1. In corresponding moves, Washington let go of two players, elevated a cornerback from the practice squad, and signed an athletic rookie linebacker to the practice unit.
