Commanders' Tyler Owens draw praise after exceptional special teams play: 'One of the greatest football plays I've ever seen'

Washington safety Tyler Owens earned widespread acclaim during Week 1 following an extraordinary effort on special teams coverage against Philadelphia. Despite facing blockers, Owens maneuvered his way downfield to deliver a thunderous stop against Eagles returner Will Shipley, generating significant attention across social media as an early candidate for the top highlight of the season.

While the Commanders ultimately fell short in a narrow 24-22 defeat to their division rivals, individual standouts helped keep the contest competitive. Rookie wideout Antonio Williams took home the team's top grade from Pro Football Focus for his showing, mirroring an afternoon where Washington displayed notable resilience regardless of the final two-point margin.
