Colts trade star lineman to 49ers. Indy's fire sale aids San Fran's Super Bowl push

The Indianapolis Colts have offloaded another veteran, sending defensive tackle DeForest Buckner back to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round draft selection. This move follows the team's earlier decision to trade offensive lineman Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks.

Buckner, who is currently playing out the final season of his existing deal, reunites with his former club after previously helping them reach Super Bowl 54. Tight end George Kittle publicly expressed his excitement regarding the return of his former teammate on social media.
