The Cleveland Browns’ four-game winning streak came to an abrupt end in Week 5, as the team fell victim to another unpredictable outing in New York. The Jets opened with an explosive 80-yard drive to score early, but Cleveland’s defense stifled the rest of the offense, forcing five punts and a fumble recovery while limiting New York to just a field goal and a short touchdown after the opening score.
Quincy Williams dominated the Jets’ offense with 11 tackles and three forced fumbles, though only one was recovered, while the Browns’ defensive line—despite missing starters Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr.—recorded three of the team’s four sacks between Maliek Collins, Sam Kamara, and Adin Huntington. On offense, rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston tied for the team lead in touchdowns with a 29-yard catch in the fourth quarter, breaking a stretch where Cleveland managed just 34 yards over five straight punts.
Meanwhile, Isaiah Bond stepped up with 74 receiving yards after wideout KC Concepcion suffered a concussion early in the game, but the Browns’ pass protection crumbled under relentless pressure, allowing eight sacks against quarterback Deshaun Watson—matching his worst sack total from last season with the team.
