Running back Christian McCaffrey made his way back to practice on Thursday for the 49ers, though he was limited due to a hamstring strain suffered after the team's Week 7 defeat to the Falcons. San Francisco is returning from a bye week, marking a shift from previous weeks when McCaffrey missed Wednesdays exclusively for load management.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Christian Kirk saw his participation downgraded to none because of a knee issue, following limited work the day prior.
Several other players also appeared on the injury report for the team. Wide receivers Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel, along with safety Siran Neal, missed practice for the second day in a row due to their respective rib, Achilles, hamstring, knee, and foot ailments.
A group of players was restricted to limited participation, including defensive end Nick Bosa, linebacker Luke Gifford, cornerback Nate Hobbs, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, safety Marques Sigle, cornerback Upton Stout, and linebacker Garret Wallow.
