The San Francisco 49ers held a narrow 14-12 advantage at the intermission over the Atlanta Falcons despite losing star running back Christian McCaffrey to a thigh problem during the opening half. McCaffrey had earlier capped off an impressive initial possession with a short scoring plunge, but his departure left the offense severely depleted due to existing shortages at wide receiver.
Reserve runner Kaelon Black managed a long scoring rush but additionally turned the ball over via a fumble. Meanwhile, Atlanta relied heavily on Bijan Robinson, who accumulated 38 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards prior to the break.
McCaffrey's status for the remainder of the contest remained uncertain as teams prepared for the second half.
