Chris Samba's son Floyd shines on debut as Man City ease past Norwich

Seventeen-year-old Floyd Samba marked his senior debut in spectacular fashion by striking twice during Manchester City's 5-0 thrashing of Norwich in the Carabao Cup third round. With his father Chris Samba observing from the stands, the teenager commenced the rout via a stooping header off a delivery from fellow debutant Allan.

Rayan Cherki quickly added a second following an Ayyoub Bouaddi pass, before Allan himself found the net early in the second half. Floyd Samba then curled in his second goal of the evening, and Ryan McAidoo sealed the five-goal victory in the 90th minute.

The visitors failed to register a single attempt on target, having seen a potential consolation from substitute Mohamed Toure chalked off due to offside. Despite Enzo Maresca making ten squad adjustments, the commanding win represents a sixth consecutive competitive triumph since taking the managerial helm from Pep Guardiola.

The tournament holders now progress to face Brighton on home soil in the fourth round.
