Chris Lindstrom suffers concussion in Week 1

Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom exited the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers after sustaining a head injury, being officially sidelined due to a concussion. Atlanta dealt with multiple other physical setbacks during the contest, as defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand exited with a knee issue and cornerback A.J.

Terrell also sustained an injury in the final two quarters. These setbacks compounded an existing crisis under head coach Kevin Stefanski, who had already ruled out signal-callers Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr., forcing Cooper Rush to take the helm under center.

On the other sideline, Pittsburgh faced health concerns of their own as offensive tackle Troy Fautanu departed the matchup with an injury, while pass rusher Za'Darius Smith managed to participate despite prior health questions. Elsewhere around the league during opening week action, the Chicago Bears eclipsed the 50-point plateau for their first time since the 2012 campaign.
