Chiefs' first-round rookie CB Mansoor Delane intercepts Bo Nix in his first NFL series, then ruled out with shoulder injury

Kansas City Chiefs first-round draft selection Mansoor Delane made an immediate statement during his opening professional series on Monday, September 14, 2026. Playing in Kansas City, Missouri, the rookie defensive back, wearing jersey number 5, snagged an interception against Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix during first-half action as fellow cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace, who wears number 30, looked on.

However, the defensive triumph quickly turned bittersweet for Delane. Following the play, the newcomer suffered a shoulder injury that ultimately forced him out of the remainder of the contest.
