Chapman thanks trainer and donors after 'freak' injury

Professional boxer Raven Chapman expressed gratitude toward her coach, Stuart Scott, whose prompt intervention following a sparring session in Denmark on 24 July likely saved her life. Chapman suffered a severe cranial injury that required emergency surgery and an induced coma, leading to a successful online crowdfunding campaign that raised nearly one hundred thousand pounds from supporters across the boxing community to assist with her recovery and transportation back to the United Kingdom.

Although she holds a strong professional record and previously challenged for a world title against Skye Nicolson in Saudi Arabia, Chapman stated she intends to step away from the sport permanently to protect her family from further distress.
