Kansas City has brought in veteran kicker Justin Tucker onto the practice squad following a rough patch from incumbent Harrison Butker during the ongoing 2026 campaign. Butker has struggled significantly with accuracy this year, converting only eleven of sixteen field goal attempts, including a recent miss from fifty-eight yards as the first half expired and another misfire from forty-five yards out during a weekend defeat against Seattle.
Across multiple recent appearances stretching back to last season, Butker has now failed on fifteen separate tries.
Tucker has not appeared in a regular season contest since the 2024 schedule concluded, having previously served a ten-game league ban stemming from misconduct allegations involving local massage providers that the player categorically denied. Following his release from Baltimore and subsequent reinstatement late last year, Tucker participated in a Tuesday evaluation session for Kansas City where he converted every single one of his thirty tries.
While Butker currently retains his spot on the primary roster, management has positioned Tucker as a viable option to handle kicking duties as early as the upcoming weekend.
