Boro struggle without Lankshear as Wrexham beat Championship leaders

League leaders Middlesbrough suffered their second defeat of the campaign after falling two goals behind against Wrexham, who secured only their fourth victory of the season. George Thomason opened the scoring in the seventy-first minute before Oli Rathbone added a second late in the match to ease the pressure on manager Phil Parkinson.

The visitors struggled significantly without their leading marksman Will Lankshear, failing to replicate the prolific form that had brought them thirteen goals across their previous four outings.
