Media personality Bill Simmons has criticized the WNBA for its scheduling decisions regarding the Finals series between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream. The league announced that Game 6 will be held on a Thursday afternoon in Atlanta to avoid a conflict with an Atlanta Hawks game at the same arena.
This scheduling choice follows a previous afternoon game for the series, which Simmons described as a poor management decision. The series is currently tied at 2-2 heading into Monday night's Game 5 at the Chase Center.
While the league considered using the smaller Gateway Center, they opted for the larger venue despite the inconvenient start time.
