Simon Harmer says Pat Cummins 'ate his words' after South Africa beat Australia in 2nd Test

South African spinner Simon Harmer has claimed that Australian captain Pat Cummins was forced to retract his criticism following South Africa's dominant victory in the second Test. Harmer noted that Cummins expressed frustration regarding South Africa's prolonged batting approach during the rain-affected match at St George's Park.

Despite the Australian skipper's objections, the hosts successfully dismissed the visitors twice to secure an innings and 31-run win, leveling the series at 1-1.

Harmer also highlighted a tense exchange between Cummins and teammate Matthew Breetzke during the contest. While acknowledging the Australian leader's composed public persona, the spinner suggested that Cummins is frequently involved in on-field confrontations.

The two teams are now preparing for the series decider, which is scheduled to begin on October 27 in Cape Town.
