Ranking England's Ballon d'Or winners - how does Kane compare?

Harry Kane has become the fifth English recipient of the Ballon d'Or following an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, marking the first time an Englishman has secured the honor in twenty-five years. Previous English winners include Michael Owen in 2001, Kevin Keegan, Bobby Charlton, and inaugural winner Stanley Matthews.

Other countrymen such as Billy Wright, Bobby Moore, Gary Lineker, David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Lucy Bronze, and Beth Mead have finished as runners-up over the years. Michael Owen secured his accolade at age twenty-two after guiding Liverpool to a treble that featured League Cup success, an FA Cup final victory against Arsenal where he scored twice late, and a thrilling Uefa Cup final triumph over Alaves.
