Barcelona impose key transfer condition to sign Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez in January

Catalan sporting director Deco has added Lisandro Martinez to a defensive shortlist at Camp Nou as fitness issues mount in Hansi Flick's squad. Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Xavi Espart are currently unavailable due to injuries, forcing the club to evaluate potential winter reinforcements.

Yet financial constraints dictate that any pursuit of the Manchester United defender during the January window must involve a minimal transfer fee. Because the centre-back's current contract concludes at the end of the season with talks stalled, an opportunity may arise for a cut-price deal.

Manchester United could face pressure to negotiate a departure this winter to recoup value rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.
