Asian Games: Esha wins 25m pistol silver after a tense shoot-off

Esha Singh secured a silver medal for India in the 25m pistol discipline following a dramatic series of overtime rounds at the Continental competition. The twenty-one-year-old athlete battled through multiple tie-breakers against competitor Kim Hyon Suk before ultimately finishing behind gold medalist Xiao Jiaruixuan of China.

This achievement marks her second consecutive podium appearance at the tournament, matching her previous performance from the 2022 event held in Hangzhou.

Qualification rounds saw Esha enter the final bracket in the eighth position with a total of five hundred eighty hits. Meanwhile, fellow competitors Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat missed the qualification cut after finishing in eleventh and thirtieth places respectively, preventing the nation from securing a team standing ranking.
