Arshdeep Singh scripts history, breaks Bhuvneshwar’s record to set new India mark

Arshdeep Singh has established a new national record for the most T20I wickets taken by an Indian bowler within a single calendar year. By reaching 38 dismissals in 2026, he moved past the previous benchmark of 37 set by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

This achievement occurred during the second match of the series against New Zealand, where Arshdeep removed both Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips. Although the Indian side faced difficulties while batting, an undefeated half-century from Tilak Varma ensured the team remained competitive throughout the pursuit.
