
Adaejah Hodge captured the two hundred metre gold medal and set a new Commonwealth Games record of twenty-two point zero one seconds during the semi-finals at Scotstoun, surpassing the previous mark held by Elaine Thompson-Herah. The twenty-year-old athlete subsequently clocked twenty-two point zero seven seconds in the final to secure victory for the British Virgin Islands, finishing ahead of Shaniqua Bascombe and Alana Reid.
Her collegiate coach Caryl Smith Gilbert and BVI National Olympic Committee president Ephraim Penn both played vital roles in supporting her journey from Georgia to international competition.
