A weight off Igor Thiago's shoulders - Brentford v Chelsea ratings

Igor Thiago ended his four-match scoring drought with a late goal to ensure victory for Brentford against Chelsea, peeling away his shirt in celebration. The Bees had broken the deadlock when Jaidon Anthony struck shortly after squandering a prime chance, converting from an outstanding curled corner delivered by Mikkel Damsgaard.

Late substitute Fabio Carvalho also found the net in a brief cameo following setup work linked to Kevin Schade and Jannik Schuster, the latter of whom assisted the decisive blow after enduring a few shaky moments in possession.

Chelsea struggled to capitalize on their openings, with Pedro Neto failing to convert an early opportunity that stemmed from Keane Lewis-Potter misplaying a clearance, while Maxence Lacroix spurned an opportunity late on after previously gifting away possession for Brentford's second goal. Midfielder Vitaly Janelt successfully thwarted a Cole Palmer run and Yehor Yarmoliuk marked a century of appearances with a fierce long-range strike, as Caoimhin Kelleher enjoyed a relatively untroubled outing against an attack featuring Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.
