2027 World Cup fever soars as ICC gets over 120 million ticket requests in ballot

November 2, 2026

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 has shattered ticket demand records, with over 120 million applications submitted by fans worldwide as of November 1. Nearly 2.8 million unique registrants from 193 countries have already expressed interest in securing tickets for the tournament’s 41 matches, which will be spread across eight venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

The enthusiasm spans all fixtures, with 32 million match-specific registrations logged, including over 14.9 million from Africa alone. South Africa’s home matches, particularly the India vs.

Pakistan clash in Johannesburg on October 10 (8.4 million requests) and the Final in the same city on November 21 (7.9 million requests), have drawn massive attention. Zimbabwe’s debut World Cup matches have also seen surging demand, with the Zimbabwe vs.

India game at the Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls already surpassing 3.3 million requests. Meanwhile, Namibia’s six fixtures have attracted over 2 million applications, led by the England vs.

Bangladesh match in Windhoek with nearly 900,000 requests. The ICC’s General Manager for Events and Cricket Operations, Gaurav Saxena, highlighted the tournament’s global appeal, noting the historic opportunity to bring the World Cup back to Africa after a 24-year absence.
