During a recent appearance on the television program Family Full House with Rohit Sharma, the veteran cricketer offered a humorous take on his future international career. When asked by host Karan Wahi about his preference between current team leaders, Sharma joked that he must maintain good relations with Shubman Gill to secure a spot in the 2027 ODI World Cup squad and with Shreyas Iyer to facilitate a potential return to the T20I format for the 2028 World Cup.
Sharma is currently preparing to participate in an upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand, where he will play under the leadership of both Gill and Iyer. The series is scheduled to commence on November 4 in Auckland and conclude on November 15 in Mount Maunganui, with Gill captaining the first three matches and Iyer taking over for the final two.
