Awards voter Noa Dalzell faced a dilemma when compiling her All-WNBA First Team ballot, ultimately deciding against placing both Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell together on the top squad. Although Dalzell acknowledged that each guard deserved a spot, she capped her representation for the Indiana Fever at one player per team because the franchise did not finish at the summit of the conference.
Clark secured the singular First Team nod for her exceptional playmaking and scoring abilities, while Mitchell landed on the Second Team after posting a historic scoring campaign. Dalzell rounded out her First Team selections with Aja Wilson, Olivia Miles, Breanna Stewart, and Paige Bueckers.
In the MVP race, Dalzell chose Aja Wilson over candidates like Clark, pointing to Wilsons superior efficiency, defensive metrics, and dominance across multiple statistical categories. Wilson led the league in scoring and blocks while anchoring a winning squad for the Las Vegas Aces.
Dalzell noted that other contenders lacked the same level of defensive impact and durability demonstrated by Wilson throughout the season.
