Former Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham calls out WNBA for handling of A’ja Wilson incident

Sophie Cunningham has publicly criticized the league's disciplinary decisions following a heated playoff encounter between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces. The controversy centered on an altercation involving A'ja Wilson and a spectator seated courtside during the second game of the series.

Although Wilson received a technical foul, league officials ultimately chose against issuing a suspension, permitting her to compete in the decisive third game. Cunningham voiced her frustration on a media program, arguing that the status of the star player influenced the outcome and comparing the situation to preferential treatment.
