Atlanta forward Angel Reese has been removed from the injury report and is expected to play in her team's playoff opener against the Washington Mystics. Head coach Karl Smesko reported that Reese has posted strong practices and remains in high spirits following a facial injury she sustained last week against the New York Liberty when taking an elbow from Sabrina Ionescu.
Reese enters the postseason averaging 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest, having recently established a single-season league record with 521 total rebounds and 32 double-doubles.
The fourth-seeded Dream finished the regular season holding a 30-14 record. Smesko previously opted to keep Reese sidelined for the second half of Wednesday's contest as a precaution after she briefly returned to the court following the collision.
