'Get fully fit and comfortable, and you are there' - Amit Mishra recalls interaction with Virat Kohli

Former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra revealed on the Baith & Bol podcast with Aakash Chopra that his international career ended abruptly after a leg injury during a T20 International against England in Bangalore. He claimed that head coach Anil Kumble and later captain Virat Kohli both gave him assurances that he would return to the team once he recovered.

Mishra stated that when he approached Kohli for an update after regaining fitness, the captain promised a response within seven to ten days. However, Mishra alleged that Kohli never replied to his messages or answered his calls, leaving him without any communication regarding his selection status.
