Virat Kohli ignored calls, messages: Amit Mishra blames ex-India captain for crushing comeback hopes

Veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra has expressed deep frustration regarding his exclusion from the national squad, placing the blame squarely on former skipper Virat Kohli. During a recent interview appearance, Mishra claimed that despite initial reassurances from both Anil Kumble and Kohli about a potential return following a physical injury, his subsequent phone calls and direct messages to the then-captain went completely unanswered.

Mishra noted that other athletes who faced lengthy injury layoffs managed to successfully reintegrate into the team, whereas his own attempts to secure clarification were ignored. Meanwhile, in unrelated coaching news, Mishra has secured an appointment as the spin bowling coach for the Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League campaign.
