Just under a day following the passing of his father and former leader of the team Tony Reno, Yale signal-caller Dante Reno delivered a remarkable athletic performance on Saturday, October 3. Returning to action from an elbow injury sustained in the season opener against Holy Cross, the quarterback amassed 298 passing yards and four touchdowns to propel his squad to a 41-24 victory against Merrimack after erasing an early 21-7 deficit in the second quarter.
Tony Reno had previously departed from his position leading the Bulldogs program during the offseason due to health concerns, concluding a tenure marked by 83 victories and five Ivy League titles between 2012 and 2025. Following the emotional triumph, Dante Reno shared a tribute on social media dedicated to his late father, who also coached him during the previous season before his transition from South Carolina to Yale.
