Will Ishan's injury be Sooryavanshi's gain? 15-year-old in contention for 2nd T20I

Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the upcoming second T20I match due to a minor right adductor injury sustained during the series opener. In response to his absence, the team has added wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra to the squad as a backup option.

This development has increased the likelihood that 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could make his international debut after spending the previous nine matches on the bench. Coach Sitanshu Kotak noted that while the teenager has shown significant maturity and dedication during training, the management remains cautious about rushing his development despite public and social media pressure.

The coaching staff is currently evaluating whether to include the youngster in the lineup or shift their tactical approach for the next encounter.
