The Indiana Fever avoided playoff elimination on Tuesday by defeating the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, with a 99-89 score in Game 2. Caitlin Clark propelled her squad by putting up 27 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds, while sinking five shots from beyond the arc.
Despite her strong performance, the star guard was disqualified from the contest after picking up her sixth foul with under three minutes remaining in the final quarter. Crew chief Randy Richardson explained that the decision was made because Clark failed to provide the offensive player space to land following a pass in the lower defensive box.
Even without their floor general down the stretch, the Fever managed to preserve their lead and force a decisive Game 3. That final showdown is scheduled for Thursday at Michelob ULTRA Arena, where the winner will secure a spot in the semifinals.
