Who will Phillies play in MLB playoffs? Wild card series schedule

Should the Philadelphia Phillies secure the final National League wild card berth on the closing day of the campaign, they will square off against the Atlanta Braves in an opening round matchup. The preliminary round is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday, September 29, hosted in Atlanta, where the Braves dominated the head-to-head regular season matchups by taking nine out of thirteen contests.

Despite this recent dominance, Philadelphia previously eliminated Atlanta during the National League Division Series in both 2022 and 2023. Looking further back at postseason history, the franchise's most recent World Series championship occurred in 2008, followed by subsequent Fall Classic appearances ending in defeats against the New York Yankees in 2009 and the Houston Astros in 2022.
