Former Chennai Super Kings all‑rounder Subramaniam Badrinath weighed in on the current T20I batting race, arguing that India’s Abhishek Sharma is the more lethal hitter compared with England’s Harry Brook. He highlighted Sharma’s 2,267 runs in 71 matches at a strike‑rate of 196.62, versus Brook’s 1,702 runs at 164.93, and pointed to Sharma’s recent 113‑run blitz in Wellington, where he reached a century in just 35 balls to help India chase down 199 with 40 overs to spare.
Badrinath also noted Sharma’s record‑breaking 30‑ball hundred against Afghanistan and his joint‑third‑fastest 15‑ball fifty, feats that propelled him back to the top of the ICC T20I batting rankings and gave him the most T20I centuries for India. He expressed doubts about India’s opening pair, mentioning the switch from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to Ishan Kishan after the third match.
