Who is Orla Prendergast? First Ireland cricketer to be sold at WPL auction

Orla Prendergast has made history by becoming the first female cricketer from Ireland to secure a Women's Premier League contract. The Gujarat Giants acquired the twenty-four-year-old all-rounder for thirty lakh rupees during the auction held in Kochi.

Prendergast brings extensive international experience to the franchise, having accumulated over one thousand ODI runs and two thousand T20I runs, alongside notable bowling contributions in both formats. Before dedicating herself entirely to cricket, she represented the Republic of Ireland at the under-17 level in association football.
