Ref Watch: Arsenal's red card appeal will fail - Dowman was aggressive

Former referee Dermot Gallagher expects Arsenal's appeal over Max Dowman's dismissal against Fleetwood Town to be unsuccessful because of the player's aggressive intent. Dowman received a red card for striking out at Harrison Neal following a heavy tackle during the fourth-round fixture.

Gallagher noted that Neal's challenge was also overly aggressive and warranted a free-kick and caution. Meanwhile, pundit Paul Merson felt the sending-off was harsh and urged the teenager to brace for physical attention throughout his career.
