A former Auburn football employee was arrested after investigators linked him to an anonymous email persona that leaked sensitive recruiting documents to rival programs. David Rudolph Jenrath turned himself in to local law enforcement and faces felony charges including computer tampering and the theft of trade secrets.
Authorities stated that the suspect utilized the alias Don Julio to distribute around ten files containing player evaluations and coaching notes targeting upcoming high school classes to eleven opposing universities.
The breach came to light after one of the recipient institutions returned the proprietary information, triggering an internal police inquiry lasting at least two months. The materials originated from Jenrath's brief stint working in player personnel under the program's first-year head coach before his departure in the spring.
Online profiles indicate the twenty-four-year-old subsequently enrolled as a student at the University of Tennessee, creating an unusual backdrop as the Tigers prepare to face that opponent.
