What happened the last time Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma played in an ODI?

Star India batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to return to competitive action together in the opening fixture of the series against West Indies. The pair last featured in the same lineup during a July encounter against England, where the visiting squad set a massive target of 387 runs.

During that run chase, Rohit and Shubman Gill provided an opening stand of 147 runs before Rohit and Kohli combined for a century partnership. Rohit registered a century of 138 runs from 110 deliveries, while Kohli contributed 74 runs off 60 balls, though England ultimately secured a 27-run victory and clinched the series.

That fixture marked a significant resurgence for Rohit following a period of poor form and questions regarding his tenure in the national team, while Kohli continued a consistent stretch of scoring fifty-plus figures. The upcoming Sunday matchup in Thiruvananthapuram will mark their first appearance alongside each other in two months.
