During the third match of the ODI series against the West Indies at New Chandigarh, the Indian batting lineup experienced a troubled beginning as the Caribbean bowling attack claimed several early wickets in the opening stanza. KL Rahul rescued the innings by anchoring the crease and reaching his ninth career ODI hundred on the fourth delivery of the 49th over, which also brought him level with MS Dhoni's milestone record.
The landmark century came via a massive maximum launched off fast bowler Jayden Seales. Teammates Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill watched from the dugout and stood to applaud the timely performance as Rahul removed his helmet to acknowledge the crowd.
