Visma-Lease a Bike has locked in Belgian prodigy Seff Van Kerckhove with a long-term deal extending through 2030, luring him away from Decathlon CMA CGM’s junior program. The 18-year-old, who had already showcased his climbing prowess with stage wins at the Giro Della Lunigiana and Volta Castelló this year, will join the Dutch squad next season, following in the footsteps of his older brother Matisse, who races for their development team.
Van Kerckhove’s decision comes after a standout junior campaign that included podium finishes at the Tour du Pays de Vaud and Ain Bugey Valromey Tour, though he was sidelined by injury ahead of the World Championships after a collision with a car in Canada. His arrival aligns with Visma’s strategy to nurture talent, with team officials emphasizing his potential to grow under their structured development program.
The move also sets up a future transition for Matisse, who is poised to join the WorldTour squad in 2027.
