Sediqullah Atal's epic 332-ball vigil in Afghanistan's thrilling draw against Bangladesh

Afghanistan salvaged a dramatic draw against Bangladesh in a one‑off Test at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, ending on 346/8 when the umpires called time. Chasing a daunting 479, Sediqullah Atal anchored the innings with a maiden Test hundred, facing 332 balls to reach 111 and steer his side home.

Bangladesh’s second‑innings blaze featured Litton Das’s rapid 102 off 117, supported by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 82 and Mushfiqur Rahim’s 81, before declaring at 372/7. On the deteriorating pitch, Atal’s partnership with Rahmat Shah’s 51 and a stubborn 19 from Yamin Ahmadzai, who survived 85 deliveries, blunted the spin of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tajiul Islam, allowing Afghanistan to cling to a draw.
