Former Mumbai wicketkeeper Vinayak Samant has been appointed as the head coach for Chandigarh. He joined the squad on October 8, just three days before their opening Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai.
Samant previously led Mumbai to a Vijay Hazare Trophy title and recently managed Bihar to victories in the Plate group for both the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Manan Vohra will serve as captain for the team this season.
Samant noted that the transition from Chandigarh's home black soil pitches to the red soil surfaces in Mumbai presents a significant tactical challenge for his players.
